| Notes: "John Culling of Upton (and) Wilson's daughter of Westrop married at N.Muskham by Dawson Vic." dated about 26Aug1641. Vicar Wilson was buried 25Apr1628 at Upton. In Upton we find records for the burial of four daughters of John/Frances Cullen; Sarah on 20Jan1655, Eliz on 23Jul1666, Mary on 22Jun1670, and another Sarah on 24Mar1680. This makes it likely that (female) Cullen born 03Oct1656 may have been the second Sarah. There is also a marriage of John Cullen & Frances Barcot, both of Upton, at Oxton by license, on Oct 7, 1639. It's not known if this is a typo or another marriage or another couple altogether. John was buried June 14, 1696, at St Peter & St Paul's Church in Upton. We also have a record of a Frances Cullen, widow, also buried in Upton, on May 12, 1700. You can also read the will of John Cullen d.1696 on our Will Transcriptions page. In the will, John mentions: his wife Frances, his daughter Frances (Barrett), his son Gervas, and his daughter Mary. All younger children though, Mary is actually John's daughter-in-law and three children are listed for her: Mary Cullen, Gervas Cullen, and Francis Cullen. | ||
