Written Mar 23, 1773 & Proved Sep 4, 1773


In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Cullen the Elder of Upton in the County of Nottingham Yeoman Do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament in Manner and form following First I give and Bequeath unto my Dear and loving Wife Alice the Interest of all my Money out upon Interest for and during the Term of her Natural Life in Case she shall happen to Survive me and after her Decease then I give and Bequeath unto my son John Cullen all my money out upon Interest and all my Bonds Notes Goods Chattels and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever he paying thereout all my Just Debts and Funeral Expences and also the Funeral Expences of my said Wife in Case she shall happen to survive me And I Do hereby make and Appoint him my said son John Cullen Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all former Wills by me made Declaring this only to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the twenty third Day of March One thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy three Thomas [mark] Cullen Signed Sealed Published and Declared by the said Testator Thomas Cullen to be his Last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and at his request have Subscribed the same Edw:d Beedham Mary [mark] Baily.

The aforesaid Will of Thomas Cullen late of Upton Deceased was proved the fourth Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy three before the Reverend John Holmes Clerk M.A. Surrogate of the Worshipfull Thomas Cockshutt Clerk M.A. Vicar General in Spirituals and Auditor of the Causes and Business of the Chapter of the Collegiate Church of the Blessed Mary the Virgin of Southwell in the County of Nottingham Lawfully Constituted And Administration of all and Singular the Goods Rights Credits Chattels and Chattels of the said Deceased which were in his Life time and at his Death within the said Peculiar Jurisdiction was granted to John Cullen Sole Executor in the said Will named who was sworn before the said Surrogate (Saving the Right of every other Person).
