of Upton, Nottinghamshire, October, 1681 Know all men by these presents that we, Mary Culling, widow, and John Culling Junior, lately of Upton in the county of Nottingham, Yeoman, are held and firmly bound to the Venerable [smudged] Chapter of the Collegiate Church of the Blessed Mary the Virgin of Southwell in the county of Nottingham aforesaid, in one hundred pounds of good and legal money of England, to be paid to the same [smudged] successors or their assigns. To which payment, well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves and each of us by ourselves for the whole and in total, our heirs, executors and administrators, firmly by these presents, sealed with our seals. Dated October [smudged] in the year of our Lord 1681 and in the 33rd year of the reign of our Lord Charles II of England, etc. The condition of this obligatōn is such That if the abovebound Mary Culling shall truly administer all and singular the goods & chattels of the abovenamed John Culling her late deceased husband and pay & discharge all his debts soe farr as his said goods & chattels doe extend and as the Law doth charge her and shall the said goods & chattels shall exhibit a true & perfect Inventory and a true & just account when she shall be thereunto required by the Register or their Commissary for the time being. Then this said obligatōn shall be void.
